Miami was a blur due to an overnight flight delay, lack of sleep and only a few hours to sneak away from the family and spend with girlfriends to celebrate a bachelorette party. As a family we did get to enjoy a day at Nikki Beach despite the trek to get there. Foolishly, we brought along our bulky convertible carseat with no real plan on logistics; we hailed taxis/ utilized rideshares to get around and without driver permission, just quickly installed the carseat with zero complaints! Also, we did bring a stroller on this trip but barely used it, we mainly carried her in a wearable carrier. Once we got to the South Beach area, we had no idea what to do with the carseat.. Do we take it to the beach with us? Do we leave it somewhere?

Do we THROW IT AWAY, IT’S SO ANNOYING!?”

So we fumbled around with it, found a random hotel and kindly (desperately) asked if they would be willing to hold it for us, luckily they said yes! We rented a few chair/ umbrella combinations and frolicked in the calm waves. We trekked back home, carseat in tow and soon it was time to fly to Grand Cayman Island.

Angel and I had first visited this island several years ago prior to parenthood as a cruise port on a Caribbean cruise. In fact, we had gotten engaged on that trip. So this time around, we already had an idea on things we wanted to do and didn’t have time to do the last time we were there. Transportation around the island was much simpler due to the convenient bus loops and lack of carseat enforcement. We stayed on the seven mile beach with our friends and their two kids and mainly enjoyed the beach with short day trips around town. We spent one day at the turtle farm where the kids got to enjoy interactions with baby sea turtles and us adults took turns to snorkel with them. The dads enjoyed a day to boat out to a sandbar and swim with stingrays. We met up with our larger group of friends as they ported from a cruise to Cayman Island to celebrate a beautiful wedding overlooking the caribbean sea. Addie got to be their flower girl. :)
